I can't find an answer to this anywhere else, so here goes: What is the protocol for crediting Sony on published work? I want to mention the use of Sony loop libraries in the credits for a forthcoming CD. Do I have to ask Sony's permission? Should I show the Sony logo? Has anyone else been through this process? - thanks |

I don't think it's a problem just mentioning them—they are royalty-free. The authors of the loop libraries might even appreciate you mentioning them. Not sure about using Sony's logo. Thanks, I raised it through support. The response was essentially that I don't have to credit them at all. Still, I think I will - I don't know if I can remember exactly which libraries I have used over a 4-year period, though! Thanks for responding. |

> Should I show the Sony logo? NO! I would definitely NOT use the Sony logo. You need to get permission to place a companies logo on anything you do. This is a quick way to get sued. ~jr |

"NO! I would definitely NOT use the Sony logo. You need to get permission to place a companies logo on anything you do. This is a quick way to get sued." Thanks mate. I only raised it because the company doing the artwork asked me if I Sony would want me to add their logo. I wouldn't be able to do it without asking for a printable copy from them anyway - where would I get it otherwise? |
