Subject:Wanted! Laswell "Get Media" wavs

I have been an Acid Pro user since 2.0. I am also a big Laswell fan..have the boxed set from here, as well as the first cd. (and the fine 2RAW cd from Powerfx as well) Today on "acidplanet", Mike S posted a nice little 8 pack from the boxed set. What i didn't realize was that over a long period of time (he claimed a year) a large number of unreleased Laswell stuff (from the boxed edition) was released on the "get media" thing...

As I said, I have been a member in good standing of the Official Sony/Sonic Foundry Users League for a while..however I DID go over to the dark side and was forced to use a mac for a while, which UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME coincided with the "get media" release of the Las stuff. I missed out on all of them....so, if you are still awake..

does anyone here have these wav's? are they 24 bit? are they cool? No one at Sony will let me at them..though I have spent a lot of doughski on all their Laswell stuff..I would like to complete my little library..anyone help out here? I have proof of my Official Sony Acid Pro Users Club Membership..decoder ring, card, you know, secret Mason-like handshake..if need be. I am NOT trying to Limewire my way in..

Also..does anyone here find it weird that there's no credits for the players on the cd's? Mike explained to me that there were no names on the tape boxes..but sheesh..maybe the engineer or LASWELL would have known who did what. I would like to know..I can tell on some things..but sheeesht..there were some really great players on these disks..and I think they should have been credited.

^ I don't think I have those loops man, but I agree that liner notes would be very nice, especially with names and details about the recording chain, room, instruments used, etc.

I have some of them. I didn't get them all, but I would be happy to email what I have. Email me separately and we can take this offline.

I hear Laswell on bass, and maybe Jah Wobble too..Nicky S on all sorts of guitars..MAYBE Bernie Worrell on keyboards..and I think Bill's wife on a few of the world vocals..but with the wealth of great musicians he's worked with, it would be nice to know. I'd really like to know who played drums..and who did the tables.

Bil Bryant at Powerfx does a fine job of this- always listing and giving credits... though his Laswell 2RAw thing doesn't list credits either..maybe it's a Laswell/Miles-like thing..the Master didn't let anyone know who played what on a few lp's either.

I think Mike is being straight and honest when he sys that either Laswell didn't know or there wasn't time to find out what was on the tapes. Judging by the amount of material they went through, I can imagine the project would never have been finished if they tried to keep track of each tape while building the library.

Anyway, have to agree - these are among my favourites of the SF/Sony series. I end up using at least one or two Laswell loops on nearly every project.
