Subject:Apple -> Intel, Soundforge -> OSX?

I love Soundforge. I mostly work on a mac but keep a PC laptop for my beloved editor.

Is it possible now, when Apple will make Intel based computers, that sometime hopefully in the future i will avoid having to lug two laptops around the world? As my scripting endeavours probably have revealed i am no coder expert, but if the reason for no mac version is intel/pc specific features, wouldnt those limits be removed now?

And i guess you guys know it, but there are NO true competition for SF on the mac, you would leave them all behind in a slow pixeldust. Every pro mac sound/music user is a potential customer!!

It's relatively easy to port applications to different processors. Usually all it takes is recompiling and it's done. It's much more difficult to port applications to different operating systems. Much of it has to be rewritten and redesigned in order to fit that OS' idiosyncracies. The problem with having Sound Forge on a Mac isn't the processor, it's the OS, and so far there hasn't been a big enough perceived market to make it worthwhile to port the SONY media software to it yet. Now, if the Intel-based Mac was running Windows, you'd be all set!
