My mouse wheel won't perform the zoom functions in either Sound Forge 7.0 or 8.0. on my laptop computer. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm completely stumped. I've updated mouse drivers, tried other mice, changed settings, but it just won't work. I'm using a Microsoft "Wheel Mouse Optical" and a Dell Inspirion 6000 running Windows XP Pro. |

Well, sorry to clutter the forum, everyone, but I just figured out what was wrong: I had two mouse drivers installed, and that somehow was disabling the zoom scrolling function. I had a program called "Optical Mousemate" that was previously installed for use with a micro-mini mouse I had purchased. Once I uninstalled it and rebooted, my problem was resolved. Anyway, FYI for anyone who might run across a similar problem! |

I'm not sure you're cluttering the forum! I think sometimes I get out of the "mode" that enables mouse-wheel zoom, and sometimes (equally mysteriously) get back into it. Sometimes the mouse wheel simply scrolls the waveform right-to-left (or vice versa). I haven't figured out how to switch into (or out of) this mode. If anyone knows, please post a reply. At any rate, I think it's a SF option, not a mouse driver. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! Sound Dog Colorado USA |

The Microsoft driver lives its own life with the wheel. Go into the mouse driver setup and disable the wheel for Sound Forge application, and then you have SF's default behavour. |
