I seem to need to simulate speaking through a megaphone frequently. I've gotten pretty close with various combinations of peaky EQ, amp simulators, delays, etc., but don't feel like I've ever really nailed it. Does anybody want to share their magic, super-secret combo that perfects this effect?

I would check here with these guys. There's not much traffic in this forum anymore.

You can try throwing the audio through the parametric EQ (check out the "phone line effect" preset as a start) with some distortion (don't go haywire, just enough to distort with a "buzz"), in that order.

A little phasing might help too since the sound from a megaphone comes from a larger area instead of essentially a point. The phasing will change as the megaphone is moved, so varying the phasing once in a while will help give the illusion that a real human is talking to an audience and moving around.
