Can't render to AC3 in Vegas

Hello

I recently purchased a new computer with XP and re-installed everything. Now I'm working on a DVD project. I rendered the video to MPEG-2 and I automatically got the license.

Then I went to render the audio to AC3 like I've always done and I get a message that I have to purchase the encoder. I have both Vegas 5 and DVDA-2 installed so I should have gotten the license automatically as before.

Anyone know what gives here? I've got a project that has to be finished by Sunday night! HELP!

You have to register the AC-3 encoder and get an activation code -- not buy the software. Just been through that myself. If you're online it should work painlessly, although I had difficulties registering through another machine.

I just ran into the same problem. It turns out you HAVE to install DVD Architect to get the AC-3 license.
