Suggestion: capture with V4. We are using V5 to capture then V6 to edit.

I have no V6 capture issues with the two PCs connected to DSR2000s BUT V6 will not acknowledge the presence of a DSR V10 on the third PC. It goes crazy if I connect a DHR 1000 yet picks up a DSR 570 camera first time every time. Dunno. All of our editing PCs are stand alones. The PC in my office picks up a DSR 20 no problem but not the V10 or my little Sony miniDV handicam. All of them see the canopus ADV(?) whatever analog->DV box but I cannot have the box and a deck connected concurrently.

cfolsom: are you sure you can capture with Vegas4 but not with Vegas 6 on this same system?*

I'd be surprised if that were the case since the capture apps are so similar. My guess is perhaps something else is in play, like maybe you updated to WinXP SP2 recently?

*If this is the case, you could point Vegas 6 to use Vegas 4's capture app.

Forum Admin when you say " . . like maybe you updated to WinXP SP2 recently" soooo... what is the difference between V4 and V6 that an update would affect it so?

Best regards,

Grazie

This sounds like the same issue Jay Gladwell is having with V6 except he has a Sony deck and is using XP Pro. Last I heard, he had not resolved the issue. You may drop him a note and see what he has to say though. (Or he may chime in here with a response)

No to the XP-SP2. Haven't installed it. My PC guy says don't do it.

V4 captures flawlessly, sees the cam perfectly. V6 doesn't see it.

How can I get V6 to use V4 to capture?

Chris
