technical question about V6 GUI fade in/out

Is there any way to disable the hideously annoying fade in/fade out GUI feature in V6? It is running on XP Pro SP1 and and must be peculiar to V6 becasue V5 and V4 on the same machine don't do this. Sound petty but I hate this feature, I just want a GUI that maintains the same brightness level all the time.

Just a guess here... might this have something do with "XP themes" or something? I'll leave to people who know more about Vegas and XP to take it from here....

It was the XP Pro Themes setting. I guess someone was bored and changed them. Changed them back to default and all is well. Thanks.
