Subject:Where is my CD burner?

I have Soundforge 8.0 and CD Archetect 5.2
When I try to burn a CD there are no devices listed in the drop-down menu. Life was so much easier in SF6 and CDA5.0.
Nero sees the burner, as does Microsoft Media Player. Any ideas?

Sounds like a common problem for some of us... I can't see my drives in any Sony software (Vegas6, SF8a, CDA5.2).

I do have the nforce chipset on the machine I am having problems with - I know Sony currently has problems with the nforce chipset. I haven't heard or found any work arounds yet.

I have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Nforce 2 mobo and have no problems burning to a Plextor Premium drive with Vegas 5, SF 7, & CDA 5. I haven't installed Vegas 6 or SF 8 yet so perhaps the issues are with these new versions? Hope not. . .

Depends on which drivers you install - it's the dirvers that has the problem, and uninstall them is not enough.

"Depends on which drivers you install - it's the dirvers that has the problem,"

So let me understand what you imply here: if the current drivers work perfectly in Vegas 5 and SF7, but there are problems with Vegas 6 & SF8, you say that this is an issue with the burner manufacturer (drivers)? I don't think so. . .
