Subject:New Forum Rules

I have just emailed Sony regarding the new forum rules, specifically this clause:

"Post topics unrelated to the specific subject of the forum including but not limited to rumors or speculations about existing or unreleased Sony products, discussions of Sony policy and procedures, and non-constructive complaints or petitions."

I cannot comment on the contents of my email as it would be a breach of this clause, however I will notify you of the outcome.

I tried to get a clarification on that clause here a while back (http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=387270&Replies=4), but no one from Sony ever responded.

Well, from my viewpoint, as long as you're constructive about any criticism you may have about ACID, then I'm sure it's OK. Just don't be confrontative about it.

I've been a forum regular here for some time and I can't tell you how many times I've seen people demand that "ACID better have this feature" or "Sony fix this bug NOW!" No good can come of anything if you're not nice.

Good idea: "I love ACID but I'd really like to see if this feature, possibly within an update or the next version of ACID..."

Bad idea: "Acid is teh pits! Why Sony whyy??????? Everyone elses softwares are so much betters! if Sony doesnt wise up soon i'm gonna switch! and I suggest everyone will too!"

I agree with your comments on semantics. I certainly hate reading posts that do nothing but bash the host company. I see a lot of this at Cubase.net. There is a little of it on the Sonar, Live, and Propellerheads forum, but it is pretty minor.

As a support tech for FX-Max, I find myself unwilling to respond to these types of posts on our forum.
