Subject:Changing plugins names back to sonic foundry?

I have acid pro 4 and sound fourge 7. With the last updates of the software the names of the pluggins were changed to sony (as well they should). I had kept my version of acid at the seccond last update. This allowed me to have both names of the pluggins (Sony and Sonic Foundry) and all was great. Recently I tried the acid 5 demo, and this turned all the pluggins to sony, and even after uninstalling acid 5 and reinstalling acid 4e all the pluggins retain the sony name. My problem is with some of my old projects (arranged in other hosts) now I can't get access to my pluggins or their settings. For a few songs I had some rather complicated automation, etc on these pluggins and I would rather not have to start from scratch. Is there any way to rename the pluggins? Thanks |

If I remember correctly, ACID Pro 4 installed in Sonic Foundry folders. Try completely uninstalling again, then delete any folder residue left over wherever you installed ACID. From there, reinstall again. Be sure you do not install ACID Pro 4 in a Sony folder; install in the default Sonic Foundry folder. Try also what's suggested in this KB article. Uninstalling should not be necessary in this case. Run the Register Sony DirectX Audio Plug-Ins migration tool (Start > Programs > Sony > Utilities > Migration Tools > Register Sony DirectX Audio Plug-Ins ) and this should solve your problem. Thanks. |

Thanks for the ideas. I had to go the route mD suggested. Thanks again. |
