Hi, I have to go online to complete the install of the Acid Pro version that I have. On my new computer I don't want to Ever go online; is there a way I can install Acid on the new PC without having to go online? If I just copy the already installed Acid folder over to the new PC, would that work? --Dale |

No, copying will not work. There is an option to register from another computer. That is one option. There is also the option to register over the phone. Neither of these requires a network connection on the PC that you’re installing ACID on. ~jr |

"There is an option to register from another computer." I already did register it online on my old PC, so can I just copy it on over to the new one without having to go online? Thanks for the swift reply. |

No. Register from another computer gathers information about the installation computer and prompts you for a diskette. You then copy this to the diskette and go over to another computer that has an internet connection. You browse the HTML page from the diskette and it sends the information to register. It then downloads a .reg file that you need to copy back to the original installation computer to complete the registration. (at least this is how it worked the last time I tried it) So it matters not that you have ACID installed on another computer. That computer’s information will not be valid on your new computer. Just click the Register from another computer option and follow the prompts. ~jr Message last edited on5/18/2005 8:47:13 AM byJohnnyRoy. |
