... but Sony, please do yourselves a huge favour and enhance your forum for Sound Forge (and Acid, Vegas etc)

If, for each product, you had 4 separate forums
(1) General
(2) Tricks n Tips
(3) Feature Requests
(4) Bugs

I think it would be extremely helpful. As it is we just have a single forum per product and it is a big mess of rants and raves.

The first release of SF8.0 is getting a lot of bashing by people who have critical bugs for their specific workflow. No doubt you guys are working hard to resolve these as fast as possible. It would be better if all these threads were in their own forum though.

Likewise, I have some feature requests that I'd love to see, but I couldn't be bothered posting them into the chaos of his mixed forum.

Go on, add the forum's I mention above. It is free, will only take your forum admin guy about 30 minutes to set-up and will make for a much more organised environment for all the users to provide their feedback on.

Cheers.
Good luck with the next release :-)

Yeah, I agree. My audio editing needs are very simple so I think SF8 in its present form will be okay but am waiting for replies to my post about SF7/SF8 on the same PC before committing to it on three of the PCs at work. Put V6 on a P4 dual processor box after repalcing the program HD and doing a clean install of XP Pro SP1 - hasn't crashed yet but that box has only the XP OS, Vegas 6, Photo Impact 6.0 and SF7b on it. Storage is a brand new Medea 800 gig SCSI RAID.

If you want to see mega screw up try editing something with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0! I doubt if V6 could possibly generate as many lockups and blue screens as that version does. Premiere Pro 1.5 c/w patches is far more stable and I don't recall any agonied shreiks coming from the editor since the upgrade was installed.

Anyway, I see I am rambling.

I disagree.
First of all, there already is a Product Suggestion (Feature Request) in the Support section.
Bugs should be e-mailed to tech support.
I'd rather just clic on Vegas-Audio and see all the Vegas-Audio related postings. Same with the others (SF, Acid, etc).
It's all a matter of personal preference though.

Product Suggestion is invisible to everyone though innit? You can't see what has been requested in the past, nor can other users comment on the merit of your suggestion.

On other audio software forums I use, I prefer not to have to read bug postings if I am not having problems myself ... unless I do hit a problem, then it is useful that I can search a dedicated bugs-only forum with some keywords and just get bug-forum related search results.

Plus, having all tricks n tips in another dedicated forum is very cool. It cuts out the noise, and you can just dip into that forum to see if there are things to learn, as postings there will hopefully only contain information useful for all..

Personal preference though, as you say.
