Many mega kudo's to the ACID Pro 5 dev team, for being a winner of the coveted 2005 PAR Excellence Award @ last month's AES convention:

2005 PAR Excellence Award winners

Sony ACID Pro 5 joined Steinberg's Nuendo 3 & Apple's Logic 7 as the only audio DAW software winners that were selected, as the best, based on the following criteria, Innovation, Value & Performance. Looking over the list of industry winner's (35), it seems ACID Pro 5 is in some elite company :-)

It is nice to see ACID Pro 5 get recognized, by such a prestigious audio (AES) organization. I've always believed that the version 5 update would put ACID Pro back on top.. Now even the industry audio pros think so too.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Sony development team!

This is well deserved. ACID has got to be the most underrated software out there. It is so powerful yet so simple to use that I guess some people dismiss it. Good software does not have to be hard to use and ACID proves this. Way to go Sony!

BTW, I see that the Audio-Technica AT2020 Microphone also won. I have one of these and it’s a sweet mic for only $99. Obviously it’s not as rich sounding as my AT4033 but you could buy four (4) of these for the price of one 4033 ($399). Something to consider for those of you looking for a nice condenser mic and a budget price.
