from the URS web page URS plugins has released version 1.0 of the URS FullTec 5 Band Program EQ for Audio Units and VST. The URS FullTec is a five band Program Equalizer featuring one band that digitally recreates the Pulteq EQP-1's low frequency shelving with simultaneous boost and attenuation, three bands of peak equalization that digitally recreates the midrange boost and attenuation of the Pultec MEQ-5 and the high frequency boost of the Pultec EQP-1a. The URS FullTec EQ Bundle includes the URS BLT EQ costs $499.99 (TDM, RTAS, Audio Units, VST) or $249.99 (Native, RTAS, Audio Units, VST). Special BLT upgrade offer - Upgrade a URS BLT EQ to the URS FullTec Bundle Native for $199.99 |

Sorry about the link 8^( >PS (to MacMoney) : how realistic does it get compared to Universal Audio's ? Wow I love them both.......but! I only have the TDM versions of UAD and TDM and VST of URS. On my TDM system a mono UAD Pultec uses 50% of a DSP chip URS uses 25%. UAD is only a 2 band (EQP-1A) (you still don't have the other two Pultec's, the MEQ-5 and the EQH-2). URS is 5 bands (all of the Pultec EQs in one) that's why they call it the FullTec. I also have the Bomb Factory Pultec bundle. BF and UAD use the same DSP but BF gives you all three Pultec's UAD and URS sound much better. I use the FullTec because it has more bands and uses less CPU/DSP. Like the other URS TDM plugins the VST sound sweet too. Hands down the first EQs I reach for! I'm so very happy that URS has ported their TDM/RTAS plugins for the VST users. So many times I wanted to use a API, Neve or FullTec on a two track in Sound Forge, Acid or Vegas and had to import to Pro-Tools. I'm hoping that they will port the S-Series (SSL) and Mix Eq to VST also. If you are a URS TDM or LE user the VST versions are free. If I wanted to use my UAD as VST I have to buy the UAD-1 card. Download the 10 day demo of the URS VST plugins http://www.ursplugins.com/, and yes you need a iLok. Hope this helps, George Ware Message last edited on5/14/2005 6:56:41 AM byMacMoney. |

When you say "Chip" about the URS, you mean Pro Tools Chip right ? I don't own any pro tools gear... Too pricy (but yet great). I think I'll go for the UAD-1 StudioPak. But I'm sure I'll somewhat miss a fulltec eq (I'm an Eq freak). I'll give a try on the demo |

Hi Fadengo Yes I meant the DSP chip of a TDM system. UAD or URS are both great buys. I'd rather have 5-bands over 2 The UDA-1 SP is a good buy too! Happy shopping, George Ware |
