Hi: First post on this forum, but I am a regular on many other forums and the moderator of the FX-Max forum, so I am half way versed in forum etiquette. ;-) A bit about me..... I am a programmer for an integrator by day. I also own ghettoanalogue productions, play synth in a couple of bands, and run tech support for FX-Max. Acid was the first computer music production package I cut my teeth on. However, I moved away from it as I got more and more into using Cubase (at this time Acid was at version 3.x). When 5.0 hit the streets with the ability to be a ReWire client, I integrated Acid back into my work. So here I am, all hangin out back of the bus, but happy to be here. Right now, Acid makes the main output, the preview output, and the surround outputs available as ReWire output channels. Since the ReWire spec allows for 64 total channels, I thought it would be useful if the additional busses that can be added to a project were made available as ReWire channels. For me, it would allow me to mix directly in Cubase with a minimal amount of submixing in Acid. Even if they did not want to make all 26 busses available, making some of them available would be useful. Ableton Live does this, and it is great. However, Ableton handles Acidized wav files as regular .wav files. So, I jockey with the Sony product development Gods for an accomodation. I would like to get other peoples thoughts. Ric |

I think its a far more flexible way to deal with it. I've been rewiring Reason to Tracktion and the flexibility is great there - every instrument rewired to its own track. I downloaded acid 5 demo to see if its worth upgrading to - and that was one of my criteria actually. Was a bit disappointed you could only rewire the whole mix. steve |

Even if they did not want to make all 26 busses available, making some of them available would be useful. Ric, You can expose up to 26 Stereo and 32 Mono buses, in ACID Pro 5. When I rewire ACID Pro 5 to SONAR 4, I can expose as many buses, as I want to, up to the 26/32 limit. I've never needed that many, at one time, in a practical project. But for grins, I tried it out and I was able to get all 26 stereo and 32 mono buses to show up, in SONAR 4.02. Should also work in any rewire host app, as well. Here is the proper procedure for exposing more buses than the default: Connect ACID to ReWire host. In ACID, got to the Audio Prefs page ReWire should be your device type. Click the Advanced Button. Add the number of stereo/mono buses you desire according to the dialog. Click OK. Exit ACID and Host app. Restart and you should see more ports exposed. Works like a charm :-) After falling out of favor, with me, in recent years, the Pro 5 update, has now made ACID, one of my favorite audio host apps again. I was glad to see Sony come out with such a comprehensive and complete update and take ACID to another level. It even works great with my UAD-1 cards, with full PDC. Anyway, glad to see you getting back into it, even if you are hanging out, at the back of the bus :-) Billy Buck |

Well f*ck me running, I scoured the manual looking for a way to do this, and I could not find it anywhere. Thanks for the hookup man. I will hoist my pint of Moosehead in your honor tonight. Ric |
