Subject:ACID pro 5, minor bug
Date:5/8/2005 6:25:26 AM

Hello,

i don't know if this has been discussed before, anyway, here it is :

when you open a folder in ACid you can choose between a few prefered folder paths that acid recorded from your previous sessions.

In SF, when you click on a path it goes directly to the considered folder, while in Acid, it doesn't refresh.
That's a bit annoying because one has to constantly browse everytime through the folders ..

cheers

>when you open a folder in ACid
From where ? From the loop explorer tab, From the "Open" window, or From the record window (browse...) ?

i guess it's from the "Open" window: when you select file/open ... then you can open a project

In my case, throught the "Open" Window, it shows me the last folder I worked in (with its .acd, and its .wav). And plus, in the "Recent" drop down menu at the bottom of the window, I have all the latest projects I worked in.

Did you have the same issue with any other program ?

Like Fadengo, ACID remembers the last folder I used to open a project as well.

What folder is used when you use File > Open?

ok i will try to be more specific :

As Fadengo said : throught the "Open" Window, it shows me the last folder I worked in (with its .acd, and its .wav). And plus, in the "Recent" drop down menu at the bottom of the window, I have all the latest projects I worked in.

-> In the case of Sound Forge (it's working good) : when i click on the "Recent" drop down menu and select one of the recent paths, then the open window refreshes and displays the folder i've just selected in the Recent drop down menu

-> In the case of Acid (bug ?!) : when i click on the "Recent" drop down menu and select one of the recent paths, then the open window does NOT refresh :( and doesn't display the new folder selected with the Recent drop down menu

is it clear and do you have the same problem ?

I didn't have any of these issue so far, but It seems that your issue is not about Acid, but about Windows XP : the "open" windows is the same *shell* of windows XP requested by all programs. So this might be a Windows XP registry issue.

I've searched some tips about the Recent file list issues, and found these entries to check :

Click Start, then select "Execute" and type in "regedit", hit Ok.
Now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Policies and select the first fodler "comdlg32".
In the right window, make sure the last DWord entry named "NoFileMru" is set to 0 (0x00000000) and not to 1 (0x00000001).

The second thing to check, and to clean is Acid's specific MRU (most-recently-used) list :
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Sony Media Software > Acid Pro > 5.0 > Metrics and select the folder "MRU Folders".
In the right window, tell us what you see... Nothing ? too much entries (more than 15-20) ? The best thing to do is to select all entries beginning with "S1" and delete them.

I hope this'll help.
