Subject:SF 8.0 BUG (another one)

the delay/echo (simple) box doesn't work properly: it's simply impossible to check the 'delay time' checkbox. It sucks and wasn't an issue in SF 7.

Actually, the only improvement i see in SF 8 is this new pitch bar. The several bugs incorporated in SF 8 are just not attractive.

cheers

The Delay Time is still enabled. Use the Time trackbar, labeled "Time (0.001 to 5.0 seconds):", to use this feature just as you did in Sound Forge 7.0.

The Decay time trackbar is enabled when you check "Multiple delays (Feedback)" as before.

The Tempo Sync Delay/Decay checkboxes and controls are new to the Simple Delay plug-in, but are only enabled in tempo-changing applications like ACID Pro 5.0.

As this is confusing to some users, we will re-examine the layout of controls in the Simple Delay effect.

hello,

Actually i was talking about the "Tempo Sync Delay" checbox which is there (visible) but hasn't got focus. Sorry for the lack of precision in my first post. However, this is confusing i think since you seem to say this option is only available in Acid. Actually i also work with Acid so certainly i remembered the checkbox working from Acid... The fact that i had others bugs in SF made me think it was another bug. In any case, i still think it should be modified because it's weird to have a checkbox that can't be checked.

Btw, i remember that the first time i used the "Decay time trackbar" it took me a few time to remember i had to check the "Multiple delays (Feedback)" prior. I thought the procedure not very intuitive. Maybe if the "Multiple delays (Feedback)" would have been place on top it would have been clearer ? Maybe it's just me, i don't know.

anyway, hope this helps & thanks for the answer

cheers

there can't be tempo sync in Sound Forge as Sound Forge does not support multiple tempos.

Sony: I think the confusion here is that people are assuming that Tempo Sync means it will figure out the tempo (even if there's only one) and sync the delay time to that tempo.

would be nice, actually.
