Subject:Is Terminal Services and/or RPC Service required for Acid?

I was doing some system cleaning and streamlining. After researching, I determined I didn't need the Terminal Services Service in WinXP and disabled it. I later started Acid 5 and got a message on startup that an "error had occured in Acid but the error could not be determined". I re-enabled the Terminal Services which I see also starts the RPC service. It would appear that Acid requires one or both of these services to be running? I did not see the the need for Terminal Services on my system.

It's curious the interactions one runs into these days.

Terminal Services is needed to support fast user switching, which our applications support.

Launching the software reports 'An error occured starting *PROGRAMNAME*. The reason for the error could not be determined".

if you don't mind clicking the message away every time you start ACID, it is not needed to run the Terminal Services service. ACID will run just fine with it disabled.

just saying this so you don't think you must keep that (potentially insecure) service running just for ACID.
