Would love to make the request for Broadcast Wave File support in Sound Forge 8. Vegas 6 now has it...is it something that will be added to SF8 soon? |

Does Soundforge at least leave metadata untouched if it cannot understand/edit it ? I unfortunatly do not have the time to find out right now, but this will need to be resolved if Soundforge is to be used in any editing process for production sound from BWAV producing gear. |

Yes, Sound Forge 8 leaves the metadata untouched in your BWF WAV files if you use File | Save, or you use File | Save As WAV. However, with BWF WAV files you need to be careful processing them so that the timestamp still properly applies. The BWF timestamp reference is stored as a sample count since midnight. Therefore, you should not perform any processing that changes the sample rate, since the timestamp reference is not updated to reflect the new sample rate. Likewise, you should not delete any audio samples from the beginning of the file, as the start time offset of your file will be incorrect because the timestamp was not updated.
