Subject:Problem with ACID PRO 5.0 during installation

When I try to install the trial of Acid Pro 5.0 (I tried downloading the trial installer a few times from the site), it says "The media library Default has a newer format that is not supported by this version of software."

What does this mean? Did I download the wrong program?

Thanks,
Toby

This is happening because you may also have installed Vegas previously to Acid.

First, uninstall anything related to Sony's products (Media Manager 2.0, Vegas & Acid). Then, here's SonySCS workaround :

___

Yes, there is an issue with Vegas 6, ACID 5 and Media Manager: Vegas 6.0 installs Media Manager 2 but ACID 5 is looking for the older version.

These steps
1. Install Vegas 6.0a (which will install MM 2.0)
2. Install ACID 5.0a and immediately run it to try it out
Get error message "The Media Library XYZ has a newer format that is not supported by this version of software."

The fix is to run Vegas at least once and then re-run ACID.

[...]

I mentioned ACID 5.0a specifically. This is the version that should be used with Vegas 6.

I installed it the way you said and it booted up fine with Media Manager, but it still took a long time to load when I clicked record (Acid 5.0a has that problem with me, while 4.0f doesn't). Then I ran an mp3 file to test out my new headphones, and for some reason the bpms on the song were lowered.. All of the sounds on my computer play in slow motion now. I tried uninstalling Acid but that didn't fix it.
I can, however, record with my mic plugged into my soundcard (Echo Gina 3g), and playback sounds normal.
I switched from a SoundBlaster Audigy to the Gina; should I keep both cards in my computer, or will Gina be fine by itself? I'm only asking because it wouldn't let me play MP3's at all while Acid was open (when I closed Acid, the MP3s would play, but of course the bpms are all lowered by the same amount).

Thanks for any help,
Toby
