That's because veg files are now considered the same as media, you can drag a veg file to the timeline and have it as an event.. The render you see is the audio being rendered.

It's not a full render, just a placer file that helps you view the veg smoothly. If you right-click and choose, "Edit Source Project" a new instance of Vegas 6 will open with the original veg file. If you make a change to that and save it, then Alt-Tab back to the original project you'll see it rerendering the placer file again.

OK, I right clicked and clicked "Open Project". If I double click the veg file, It video and audio go to the timeline as one clip.

Thanks

One more thing...How do I get Ultimate-S into V6?

I think you have to upgrade to the latest version. Not positive because I am not installing my upgrades until 6b is released.

Go to Program Files>Sony>Vegas 5>Script Menu, and copy the Ultimate S folder.
Go to Program Files>Sony>Vegas 6>Script Menu, and paste the folder.

Done. Or, you can download the latest rev, and install it straight to V6, and it will open up correctly if you input your serial.

oops, sorry Spot. I hang my head in shame.

Did Sony give any hints at NAB about when the 2/3" XDCAM HD is coming out? I know the 1/2" version will be available this year but I am not fond of 1/2" chips nor trying to adapt my 2/3" broadcast lens fit.
