Okay, I can't figure this one out at all.
Been using Vegas 5. I set up a custom encode, which was basically, the Main-Concept 2, NTSC.. only changes I made was Best Quality and 2 Pass VBR.
When trying out Vegas 6. I set up the exact same thing...now DVDA 3 is telling me that it needs to recompress the file!!!
I've checked all the tabs between my original Vegas 5 setting and the new Vegas 6 setting...all exactly the same...
How can this be happening? When I encode in Vegas 6, with my Vegas 5 preset..works fine... When I change the Vegas 6 MC setting (Best + 2 Pass) it says it must recompress...
Here is the info for the new file (that must be recompressed)

See why I'm baffled? What I really can't figure out, is when I select my Vegas 5 preset..it's works fine (in 6) but changing those 2 things in Vegas 6 w/o using my Vegas 5 preset, just won't work.
Some other tests I ran...
DVDA - 2 pass + Good Quality = no recompress
DVDA - Best Quality = no recompress
NTSC DVD - 2 Pass + Best Quality = needs recompress
For whatever reason..it appears to be limited to 2 pass on high quality..no matter what the output (regular NTSC or DVDA) output..
Any ideas? d:-)
