Hey, does anybody know how to get the mouse wheel to do horizontal scrolling, i.e., expand/contract the view in the tracks window, so you don't have to be constantly clickling on that little bar to get the resolution you want. I was working in a studio recently where the mouse wheel worked that way but nobody seems to know how or why it does. Thanks in advance.

While you're zoomed in on your tracks, hold down CTRL on your keyboard while scrolling up or down with your mouse wheel to scroll vertically.

Hold down SHIFT while scrolling with the mouse wheel to scroll horizontally.

If you're looking to zoom in and out, simply place the cursor and use the mouse wheel. (Be sure the timeline has focus (ALT+0 (that's a zero) on your keyboard.)

Use CTRL+SHIFT+up or down arrow key to zoom in track height. Use the up or down arrow key to simply zoom in time.
