I recently installed the new version of Acid on my computer, and it works great accept for a simple problem that I'm sure is related to a setting somewhere, but I can't figure out what... I load a 4bar drum loop into acid, click record, and start playing my keyboard which is hooked up to my computer recording directly into the sound card. Acid records it just fine, the problem is even though I play along with the drum beat, when I play back what I recorded it is not synched to the 4bar loop drum beat. So- what can I do so that when I make a recording its synched up to the loops?? I'm guessing this might be a "snap to" problem, or something? Any advice would be GREAT - Thanks so much |

In preferences>Audio there is a slider where you can adjust the audio latency. there is also a tap so that it adjusts automatically but that sometimes is offset too. try and play with the manully adjustable latency slider. Martian |

Tried that, nada I'm pretty sure its not a latency issue... I'm using the exact same computer, keyboard, setup. I just upgraded my version of Acid. Its pretty annoying as its completely halting my ability to write music. I bring in a simple 4 bar drum loop, past it a bunch of times, then hit record, play over it. When I play back the tracks the line I record is totally offset from the drum loop. This never used to happen. Anyone? anyone? anyone? please help!! |

There have been a couple of posts like this where people are having the same problem with the new version of ACID. Does your sound card have ASIO drivers? If yes, you should use them. If no, then you can try the generic ASIO4ALL drivers or get a sound card that has ASIO drivers. It sounds like a record latency problem to me. ~jr |

I remember having certain problems where the recorded audio would offset itself from where I actually started. That was awhile ago and with ACID Pro 4 but I believe it was due to the drivers. (At that time, I used an M-Audio Audiophile 2496.) In any case, if you're using WDM drivers, go to the Audio tab under Options > Preferences and try futzing with the "automatically detect and offset for hardware recording latency" setting.
