I upgraded from SF7.0 to SF8.0 last week lured mainly by the scrubbing tool. This more than basic feature should have been available long ago. I basically restore vintage records (vinyl & shellac), and the "click and crackle" tool does not detect and fix all glitches (manually fixing utilizing the "pencil" tool is best). Then comes the jog/shuttle a.k.a "scrubbing" to acurately find the portion where a glitch lies. Sonic, why does the scrubbing tool generates a loud click at the beginning and the end of the selected portion, making it very annoying to detect which of the three glitches is the real one????. This happens no matter what scrub speed is selected in the preferences menu. The "Find" tool does not work, but this is a known issue. The GUI is incredibly much slower than on SF7. When previewing in ANY of the plug-ins (especially the NR), if you go directly from "Preview" to "OK", it causes, either a 1 to 10 minute process time, or a complete crash of SF without possible recovery of the unsaved work. One has to first "Stop" the preview, then click "OK", thus jeopardizing the thousands of click habits acquired with SF7. Too many issues unfixed. I go back to SF7 until Sony releases a 8.a upgrade. Is all this time lost worth the $99.95 spent????? |

Actually, will the $99.99 upgrade offer deadline be extended until the "proper" version has been released? Having said that I can think of a number of deficiencies in basic processes which have been there for years. |

The deadline for the 50% savings is today. Too bad. Regards. |
