So now I've got this issue where every single project I open up has the third buss clipping to infinity before I've even hit play. I have a chain onf plug-ins on the buss in each case, and I've found that going in to the chain and reordering the plug-ins makes the clipping signal stop, and then I can put the plug-ins back in the order they were in and it's fine, but why does this keep happening. It's always the third buss, and it doesn't matter what plug-ins are in the chain (as far as I can tell). But then as soon as I rearrange the plug-ins, it's fine. Not a big deal (especially compared to all the other crap Sony needs to fix), but definitely a bit annoying. Anyone else get anything like that? |

Nope, I can't say that I have. Most of my projects routinely have 3 or more buses in them. Other than Voxengo plugins and a few other odd native FX, I mostly use UAD-1 DSP plugins, in my projects. I rarely use Sony's native plugins, except maybe, as an odd effect . Their new tempo-based FX, included in ACID 5 Pro can be pretty interesting actually. Billy Buck |

BB, can we swap computers? Please?!? PS...agreed the tempo-synced plug-ins are nice, woulda like to see a few new effects added as part of the package, but at least they updated the delay and chorus/flange stuff. |

BB, can we swap computers? Please?!? Hehehe.......I am still using the same ol' PIII 1Ghz/512 dedicated DAW that I built for myself about 4 1/2 years ago. I have added (3) additional 7200 RPM hard drives (2 IDE & 1 fireware for my audio/video projects) and professional audio and DSP PCI cards, plus installed XP Pro, over the years. I have taken good care of it and only use it for audio/video related work, no games, internet use or non-related media software. I don't even allow anti-virus software or software that contains copy-protection like PACE, on my DAW. My motto is to "Keep it Lean & Clean", you'll encounter less problems that way. I am not saying that ACID Pro 5 or any other media software (Sound Forge 7, Vegas 5, SONAR 4, Project 5 etc...) or audio hardware ( Delta 66, 2-UAD-1's, UA-100 USB) that I use is completely bug free, but I have very few problems, if any, using any of them, in a DAW environment. About once every year or so, I completely wipe my "C" drive clean and selectively re-install and do general house cleaning. It also, gives me a chance to get rid of stuff off my hard drive that I no longer use. A good rule of thumb is, if you have not used something in over a year, get rid of it. Goes for hardware as well. I've made well over $5,000 dollars, on ebay, in the past 5 years selling software and hardware I no longer use. |
