Turn OFF Media Management?

Is there a way to turn Media Management OFF?

I am thinking this is why it takes my V6 looooong times to open. Sometimes it being like 20-30 seconds. Sometimes when I close V6 it also takes a while as Media Management closes.

I don't use Media Management (yet). All of my folders are organized in a logical manner and I've never had a hard time finding my media. Although I will possibly need this feature in the future... I do NOT need it now.

Is there a way to turn OFF Media Management?

Options-Preferences-General.
Near the bottom.

Yes, the option to do this is the 3rd to last one in the general prefs page. "Enable Media Manager (requires Vegas restart)"

This is also documented in the help/manual and these forums.

ddooohhh!

Just noticed... we were reading the V5 Manual. Just downloaded the V6 manual. Also in searching, one of my guys found the same thing in ACID 5. (using the correct manual)

We're trying to get it up and going as smooth as possible on one of our machines before we do our next presentation. Would like to complete the video work in V6. We will be running it directly from the timeline via a projector. If all goes well.... we will be putting in a P.O. for some new workstations equipped w/ V6!

Now if Sony could just do away with the 'wowexec.exe' bug on start up. It may be that the Media Manager is not the culprit.

Look back through this forum and I think you'll find that the wowexec thing had to with an old TWAIN dll.
