What's good? Still new to this whole Acid thing. I'll introduce my lil home studio (Roland DR-660 Drum Machine, SP-303 Sampler, Numark turntable, Casio Keyboard, Basic 4 Channel Mixer). I've been doing the producing thing for awhile now, but my "team" has had a fallen out so I'm solo now. I recently purchased a Oxygen 8 Midi Controller/Keyboard from M-Audio. I have everything up and running, but I'm confused about recording and editing in Acid. The last studio I was working in used Acid. We would play a loop on the keyboard, or a drum pattern on the SR-10, and he would record it and edit in Acid. When I spoke w/ a support rep at Sony, he advised I would need a new soundcard. I just purchased a new Dell, so it was equipped with SoundBlaster Live 5.1. Any recommendations, or do I need a new soundcard in the first place? He advised I would need a soundcard where I can run the mixer to? I'm looking forward to any advice I recieve. Thanks.

Absolutely you want to replace the SB card with something better and I would make it the first priority. Do a search on these forums and you'll get plenty of suggestions. The Echo and Maudio cards seem to be favorites and are affordable.
