Subject:Hard crash 5.0a

I did something I know I shouldn't have done but did anyway since the program let me. And just because I use to manage a software test group the tester in me did it a few more times and can say this is fairly repeatable.

This is using 5.0a.

I opened a project via the windows explorer. Open the folder on my drive (D:\work in progress\aidni.acd), double clicked the project. Acid loaded and opened.

Once the project was loaded, it began to load and display the various .wav files.

At this point I deleted one of the files from the project..not just delete the drawn image, but the entire track. Hard crash...straight to black and re-boot.

It seems that to get this to happen is the .wav file has to be in the process or has not been loaded. If it has been loaded, it doesn't appear to crash the system but more robust testing would tell that story. Don't know if having Acid open already and opening the project another way causes the same error...something for you guys and girls to figure out. Have fun.

This track does not have any VST or directX plugins. Also it is not routed to a bus or FX. The track location was #1. The file was pretty heavily chopped up. It was only painted in the first 45 seconds of the project. I don't think it has anything to do with this crash but the .wav file I used is 'click backdrop 02.wav' from James Johnson Slow Silhouette
