Subject:PLEASE TELL ME I DIDN'T JUST LOSE ALL MY MUSIC!!!

OK I've looked through the tech info and the posts and didn't see anything on this so I'll BEG BEG BEG BEG BEG OH PLEASE GOD!!! Beg here for some help.

I (being a dumbass) thought that when I saved a project and it gave me the option to save all the files in that project as a .zip file, that I was saving EVERYTHING that acid needed for the song I made. So when I bought a new machine I copied all the .zip files off the machine,..(each in a seperate directory sonicfoundry/acid30/song1/song1.zip format) and insalled 5.0 on my new machine, copied the files over and it keeps telling me that the individual files are missing and that it wants to get them from sonicfoundry/acid30/temp1

I've already formatted the old machine,..these .zip files are all I have. It takes them a LONG time to load before the machine tells me that the directory is wrong, so I'm HOPING the info is still in there.

Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to load these files up and get my songs back?

Do your ZIP files contain an .acd file and a bunch of wav files? If so, first big hurdle cleared.

When you copied all the ZIP files over to the new PC, did you also unzip them? You probably did... just checking :) - should also check to make sure that the files were extracted to the directory you wanted and Winzip didn't default them somewhere else.

If so, are you getting the little pop up window that says
"the following file could not be found in the specified location". If so, it's just a matter of specifying the new directory that you unzipped your files in so... choose the 2nd option, click OK and navigate to where the files are located on your new PC and you should be good to go.
