I had the same problem. I've set up a custom Windows theme with narrower scroll bars. Apparently when the area underneath the timeline is too narrow (short), the tempo slider won't show up. I fixed it by going to View / Time Ruler, and checking Show Time Ruler. This added enough space under the timeline for the tempo information to show up. You could probably also fix it by making your scroll bars wider. I like thin scroll bars so that wasn't an option for me.

Hey Chienworks,that was fast,smart and helpfull !

I like narrowed scroll bars too but never have thought that was the prob,I messed with the time line modes but never activated it so that was the key.

You were very helpfull and I highly appreciate your atention.

Thanks a bunch !

Does disabling Theme Support in ACID - General Preference Page - solve this problem?

No!

I tried disabling XP theme support and nothing, didnt try the narrowed scroll bars tho,but the show timeline worked.

Ok,just for the couriosity I tried the scroll bar thing and had to go from size 9 to size 16 for Tempo slider to show up,but size 16 is really thick and not an option to me.

There are two work arounds for this:

- Increase the scroll bar size in Windows preferences until the tempo control is visible.
- show the time ruler (though this may not always work.)

We will address this in a future update.

No, I can't say when that update will be.

Q for Raya:
Why is 16 not an option for you? What baddness does it cause? It appears to be the windows default. I am not judging your preferences, I am just curious.

For me, i often have many small windows open simultaneously. Thick scroll bars started eating up an annoying percentage of the screen space. I've got mine set at 12. Any higher than that and the loss of screen real estate adds up quickly.

Peter, on most of the computers i've set up, the default is 22 or 24.

That's true and since I mostly use mouse scrolling the bars are almost useless.

I think we've got this one figured out. Are you running at 120 DPI, in Display/Settings?

If yes, the lowest size you can go with the scrollbars is 16.
