Subject:Acid Pro 5 No Longer Recognizes CD Drive

When I first installed Acid Pro 5, it had no trouble recognizing my CD/DVD drive. Now, all of a sudden it tells me I don't have a CD drive. I've tried restarting and rebooting, but no luck. Sound Forge and CD Architect have no problem recognizing the drive.

I recently experienced the same problem on my HP Desktop System, but it still works fine on my Laptop. Not sure what's up with this, it has always worked before, I cannot extract audio from CD. Haven't tried to write to CD yet. I submitted a similar issue about the same time you submitted.

I'm not sure if this is the issue you're seeing, but there's a bug in ACID 5.0a where installing on top of 5.0 removes the CD driver module file.

Please check in your main ACID directory (C:\Program Files\Sony\ACID Pro 5.0 is the default) for the file sfcd.cdd. If it does not exist, try re-installing and the file should be replaced.

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, that was the problem and reinstalling 5.0a did fix it.
