Subject:Silence at the end of an MP3 (I've seen it removed before)

I want to remove the 25 ms of silence at the end of MP3's that Sound Forge 7 adds after saving. I've searched through the forums and read the posts about how the short silence at the end of an mp3 is implicit in the codec, but I've seen many mp3s with NO silence at the end of them (for gapless track transitions), i.e. I open up the mp3 in Sound Forge, and the sound info continues all the way to the very end of the track. I have downloaded mpTrim 2.00 but this will only let me trim a minimum of 1 second, which is too much to cut off. Anyone have suggestions?

Why do you need to remove the silence? And ... if that's the case, why are you using MP3 files?

1. gapless track transitions. I COULD just rip the whole album and merge the tracks together, but then I dont get to pick my favorite tracks.
2. I store all my albums on mp3 because I have an mp3 player.

Of course you can. You can rip the entire CD and then select and delete the tracks you don't want or you can just rip the tracks you want. SF7 allows you to do this and more. However, if you want track markers at each transition (crossfade) you will need to burn from another program.

The lame encoder and winlame will allow you to do this.
