My first time using any type of VSTi plugin for Acid, does anybody else use Stylus RMX? How do you record it on a track in Acid? I need help!

i guess you can use ctrl+m for rendering it to a new track.

Go to Options>Preferences>VST Instruments tab. Check to see if the Stylus RMX is available as a soft synth. If it is, you should be in business.

When you go to record MIDI, you should be able to choose Stylus RMX under, "MIDI Thru." (You will, of course, need a MIDI controller such as a MIDI keyboard to actually record MIDI.)

I use it every day, what do you need to know?
First though..did you RTM? Because, though there's no "instructions" for Acid, like there are for logic, DP and Live..it works about the same..you drag a midi file into an acid track, and it plays back the slices that make up a groove (make sure you set up the playback on the acid track to use stylus....or you play individual slices into a midi track..anyway, it all works via midi info.

btw, it works well inside acid.. the drag and drop is better than Live..which doesn't let you do that..but as we all know, Live is better for ..live. and part of the big fun of RMX is jamming with the app, which you can do with Acid, but it's not what the app is made for, right? the multi timbral outs work , the efx are great..etc etc. It's really a powerful plugin..more than a plugin, it's an app to its own bad self. I think eventually Spectrasonics will make it astand alone, alongside their other engines.

But for now..especially with the Chaos designer function that makes a loop "not a loop" by changing the information inside the loop on every pass, as per your parameters, it's a very good way to get a groove going, THEN paint in a few Acid loops. I have also tried converting Acid loops (and other wav's) into Rex2 files, and putting them inside the RMX engine, using them as a section in the mutitimbral thang..works well..BUT..not the same as Acid.

Somebody here was pointing out at one time why they "still" used Acid..and it came down to work flow..and a certain way of non linear construction. As a user since day one...I agree. S' cool to have different tools for different methods of working.
