Subject:SF8 Install Problem

Hi,
Just bought SF8 upgrade. Have SF7+NR installed.

Install complains right off that "The selected shared components folder is invalid. It is in use by a conflicting Sonic Foundry product."

The folder named is - ...\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-ins\.

If I press OK, install just waits - for what? How do I install SF8? What SF product doesn't it like?

Thanks so much for any help.
Tom

I would try uninstalling both SF7 and NR, then try to install SF8 again. But you may want to look through the messages here about other problems in SF8 and wait for 8.0a.

Thanks Myrna,
I thought of doing that. Strange things is that I did have SF8 trial installed successfully and I pulled it out before starting the 'real' SF8 install.

I did search this forum, but couldn't really find any hits that related.

Thanks
Tom

| had to clean up some leftover registry entries. I suspect it may have been the old Batch Converter that was the culprit.
