Subject:Gap Detection while recording in SF8

Gap Detection is not on the right-click menu in the Record dialog, and Sony Tech Support says the feature has been removed -- they just forgot to change the manual.

Does SF8 still monitor for gaps while recording, as SF 5, 6, and 7 did? If so, what is the default mode -- ignore, mark, or stop?

If it's Ignore, is there a way to change that?

What's the logic behind removing this feature?

A response from Tech Support to these questions says that they have REMOVED the ability to detect gaps while recording.

UNBELIEVABLE! SF8 is worthless for recording, as far as I am concerned!
