Subject:ACID 5 CRASH AND EMU 0404 Posted by: womble42 Date:4/2/2005 1:58:29 AM Hi - I have read some of the forum entries and it is obvious that there are major problems with the EMU 0404 card and ACID 5. I bought this card as part of the proteus X package and have found it completely problematic. Like others - I have found that the sound disappears - so, if chose the EMU drivers from the ACID 5 preferences again and press apply this seems to work. But - all of a sudden, I am not able to open previously saved work. The songs will record fine - but when i try and reopen them - the bar that says "opening project - progress" gets stuck on either 1% or 99%! When I CTRL ALT DELETE and look at processes it says that ACID 5 is at 50 % CPU usage! Again, like others, I am very very frustrated with this! I use ACID music a lot and am now have my creativity slowed down and stopped. I have not been able to do a song since FEB (when i purchased the card!) WHAT IS GOING ON! When are you going to sort this out please? These cards have been on sale for a while now! Please Please Please sort out otherwise - one of you is going to have to go from my system!

This seems to be taking a little too long -and has certainly caused me frustration for a good 6 weeks! Could you give me some idea as to what the timescale is? We test with a reasonable cross section and had no problems like the EMU ASIO driver set presents. When we were made aware of the problems with the EMU hardware, we began our investigation. Between communicating with EMU, obtaining hardware, determining the cause and determining the correct solution time has passed. This process did not complete until after 5.0a was released. We are currently addressing this along with other issues for a future update. I cannot say when it will be released. Peter
