Can i automate a filter sweep in Acid 3.0 with the envelopes?

I find acid 3 better and more stable so want to keep using it but also what filter DX plug can i use with it?? do waves do a filter plug in? as i have the Waves diamond 5 plug ins?

I believe automation of certain parameters in an effect began with ACID Pro 4.
