Subject:how to delete regions with batch converter or script

hiya,
I have more than 2000 audio files and i wish to delete the region named "record take 1" in each one of those files.

Is there a way of deleting markers and regions info without opening the files one by one, right clicking on the region and deleting.
Maybe by using a batch converter or some script?

Thank you
Didier

As long as the regions are all named exactly the same, this script should do it:

Delete Region Script

This script will open all selected files, look for a particular region name (whatever you enter), delete that region - if found (note: if more than one region has the same name, only the FIRST one will be removed), and then re-save the file.

Just copy both files in the zip file to the Script Menu folder and run the DeleteRegions script.

hello Edward,
thanks for the replies but the zip you sent me has only one .dll file and a .gif.
you told me about 2 files.
there might be one .js or .vb missing ?
Didier

PS : I only have vegas 4.0 and SF 6.0

One dll + one gif = two files

You'll need SF 8.0 in order to run the script. Scripting was added in SF 8.0. I did not write this script for Vegas use.

I guess you could install the demo of SF 8, run the script, and have them all fixed (or just buy the upgrade). Since you posted in the SF scripting forum, I assumed you wanted it for SF8.

Hiya,
I should have told that i don't have SF 8. I'll have to get my boss to buy it.
I've eventually found a way around: i installed an old SF 4.5 with a in-built batch converter with which I can remove or add summary and extra info.
How come new versions don't do that?
Anyway it works.
thanks again and i'll let you know when i'll get SF 8.0 and try the script.
Didier
