Subject:M-Audio FirewWire 410 users: what driver version do you have?

Brand new card here and a question:

For those who got no problem at all with this card, what is the driver version you use?

I have the latest one ( 5.10.0.5034 ) and I got problems at the mixdown ( glitches in sound, even at 2048 samples of buffer size ).

Capture went ok (in Vegas, though) with monitoring...

If I use M/S Sound Mapper, everything's ok too at mixdown.
It may be my 1394 on-board port too... I also posted on Vegas forums (audio and video)...

I don't have a FireWire 410 but I think JohnnyRoy does. Maybe he can help.

Did you try a lower buffer size than the one you were used to? You usually have to find a happy medium rather than going too low OR too high.

Yes I tried with no success... both 128 and 64 samples settings

I'll check when I get home, FuTz.
However, I'm having other problems that, after what you're experiencing, I'll be checking out to see if maybe it is my 410 drivers causing them.
I have the latest one right now, but maybe I'll switch to an older one to see if that helps.

I'm using the 5.10.0.5022 drivers on my FW410. I have my sample rate set at 48K in ACID with a 24-bit sample depth and the FW410 correctly detects it at 48K. My ASIO/WDM buffer size is 256 samples (5 ms). I am not having any problems with the FW410 other than it doesn't like being on the same firewire card with my ADS Pyro A/V Link. :(

I'm using the firewire on my Gigabyte 8KNXP motherboard which uses the Texas Instruments TSB43AB23 chip set.

Have you disabled system sounds? I have mine disabled. Prior to doing that I would get crackles every time windows wanted to make a beep. (Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds tab > Sound scheme set to No Sounds)
