Subject:Annoyance #2: not able to reset clipping

(SF 8) This is a real annoyance. You know that meter on the right hand side of the screen? Well it is totally disabled from accessibility while working with plug-ins and the like. Here’s the problem with that: if I am “previewing” audio in a plug-in, and the audio happens to clip, the meter shows the red [0.0]. But the red doesn’t go away! There’s no way to reset it, unless I exit the plug-in. But I don’t want to exit the plug-in, because then I’ll lose my settings (and that'd be a waste of time just to reset the clipping). So long as the meter shows me the audio has been clipped while I’m previewing the audio and making the necessary adjustments to the audio, I will never know if my new adjustments will bring the audio under clipping or not, because the meter continues to show clipping. If I could only reset it while the plug-in window is still open, I would be able to see whether the new adjustments will suffice or not. Message last edited on3/20/2005 7:10:01 PM byJohn 17:17. |
