Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading from SF7 to SF8. Does a cut down version of CD Architect come with SF8? If so, what will it do that, say, Nero 5.5 won't do? any information would be appreciated? Thanks, Chris (Hunt) |

Hi Chris, The version of CD Architect that comes with SF8 is the full version. Sorry, but I have never worked with Nero so I can not help you there. Terry |

Thanks Terry, One thing that Nero will do that I find useful is that if I drag and drop an m3u playlist onto Nero it will bring in all the files automatically. Will CD Architect do anything like that? How easy is it to add and arrange files? Best wishes, Chris |

CD Architect doesn't do MP3 discs. Adding tracks is a simple drag-n-drop affair, but the main way I use it is when I've got a long recording (say, of a live performance) that I want to burn to CD while breaking it into tracks. In CDA it's simply a matter of placing markers to define tracks, so you don't have to manually split the recording first. Probably the best way to see what it's like is to download the trial. |

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the trial and had a look. I can see that for dealing with long recordings CDA can be useful (though I don't immediately see the gain over Acid 5), but for making a basis CD with multiple tracks it seems a nuisance. For example, I would have expected to be able to reorder tracks using the track view instead of having to drag tracks backwards and forwards on the time line. In this respect Nero 5.5 is much better.
