I'm trying to build a machine that can run both ACID Pro 5 and ProTools LE. Can anyone suggest good PC sound cards that will also not interfere with ProTools. Apparently ProTools functions as a sound card itself. Thanks, Eric |

The MBox or 0002 are both capable of use with ACID or any other software. You really don't need another sound card. Peter |

001 is good too, but the latest versions of PTools LE dont support it. Basically, the 001 has been dropped from support by Digi. Peter |

Ok, I'm confused. How does this work? How does PTLE work as a sound card? I just connect it to my PC via Firewire and the drivers are installed on my PC and I select one in ACID? :) OK, while I'm at it, then how does ReWire work? Do I need to run ACID on another machine and somehow connect it and run it at the same time as the ProTools session? How do they synch up? Many Thanks, Eric |

> how does ReWire work? ReWire allows an entire application to act as a plug-in to another application. They must be on the same machine. So in ProTools you could insert ACID as a virtual instrument and it will play just like all the other virtual synth plug-ins. ~jr |
