Subject:Loop Based software for third grade general music

Hello:

While I know this is Sony's site, I would like some relatively objective opinions about choosing a Loop Based package to use with my third grade general music classes.

Appropriateness and ease of use are definitely major considerations. Also, if there is an easy way to take projects and burn to CD, that would be a definite selling feature.

Our school can go either way in terms of platform (Mac or PC)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think Sony’s Super Duper Music Looper would be great for your third grade class. It is for ages 6-10 year olds and third grade is 7-8 yrs old so its very appropriate for them. It even records vocals and creates CD’s. For $29.95 it’s hard to beat.

SDML is pretty cool, but I don't think it does any burning. ACID Music Studio does, though its feature set might be a bit much for 3rd graders. However, if ever you have any questions, JohnnyRoy and I are here. :)

To be honest, I can't think of anything simpler than Sony Pictures Digital's offerings for looping.

Oops. You may be right. The specifications said create music files to burn to CD but it doesn’t say that it can actually do the burning. You could just use ACID Music Studio for burning and still have the children compose on SDML and save to a wave file.

Have you tried the acid demo? There is no timeout on it, but it is limited to 8 or 10 loops. It may work for you. At least try it.
