Subject:Given up on 5.0. Help with Loop Edits, Please.

I use Tascam's FW-1884 as my control surface for Sonar 3.1.1. I am a guitarist foremost, and I use Acid Pro 4.0f mainly for my drum tracks. I downloaded the trial version of Acid 5.0 after hearing that I could run Acid as a slave to Sonar. What a great idea: record my loops in Acid (so easy to do) and record my live audio tracks in Sonar-what could be better? After repeated attempts to rewire Acid Pro 5.0 into Sonar and the resulting freeze up and crashes, I resigned myself to editing acidized loops in Sonar. I want to use the FW-118's controls to make precise edits. How?

For example, I will load a drum loop (verse) into Track #1 and drag it for three measures. I will then load a loop into Track #2, this time a fill, to begin at Measure 4. Of course, given the nature of the rhythm, the fill may need to start a beat before the beginning of Measure 4. How do I align the loops, using the FW-1884's controls, in the easiest manner possible? In addition, how do I split a loop using the FW-1884's controls?

For those who can help, thank you very much for your time. Dan.

I'm not of much help here as I'm not familiar with SONAR.

I'm pretty sure others run ACID Pro 5 just fine as a ReWire slave in SONAR. Doesn't the standard procedure for ReWire consist of starting the host first, the slave second and then ReWiring them together?
