Acid 4.0f Recording in Mono!!! Help -ACID Product Family

Subject:Acid 4.0f Recording in Mono!!! Help Posted by: debaser Date:3/9/2005 8:09:20 PM WinXP, Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS, Acid 4.0(f) Just installed & can only record in mono for some reason. Attempting to record both a bass & keyboard. Any suggestions? Thank you!

It only records one track at a time. That one track can be mono or stereo. Are you trying to send the bass through the left channel and the keyboards through the right and its not working? You select the correct record device at the bottom of the record dialog. Make sure you are using a stereo and not a mono input on the Audigy. ~jr

Help Reply by: debaser Date:3/10/2005 8:02:20 AM it is not recording in stereo. after hitting the record button & testing levels, only the left level bar is active. going through a boss processor for both the keyboard & bass, even tried direct to soundcard with keyboard. the boss is showing in stereo. any other suggestions? thank you.

In the Recording Device dropdown at the bottom of the Record dialog, select (Mono, Left) and ACID will record these as true Mono tracks (not just stereo on one side). If the keyboard is stereo, then you will probably have to make a special cord that takes the stereo out of your keyboard into the stereo in of your soundcard. If the Boss processor is stereo, then maybe you need to make a stereo cable to plug that into your soundcard. If it’s not, then mono is all you will get (and want) in ACID. There is no sense recording the same mono information in stereo. All you will accomplish is wasting disk space. ~jr
