Subject:Error Message When Accessing Loop

When I click on a loop to preview it I get the following error message:
"An error occurred accessing the media Cinematic 01 Strings 02.wav."

Using Windows Explorer, I can hear the loop. Still, I tried to reload the loop into the proper folder, still ACID can't access it. I tried closing the app and reopening, still no access.

What's going on and what can I do to fix it?

Thanks!

Is this a loop from a Sony loop CD?

Do you have sound forge in any of it's forms?

Perhaps the file got corrupt on the hard drive? Try re-copying it. Perhaps you need write privileges to the file and its read-only from the CD? (but that would be true for all files copied from a CD. This is very strange. I would delete the file and re-copy it from the CD and see if that helps.

Yes, it's the Sony ACID Orchestral 3: Cinematic CD.

Yes, I have Sound Forge 7.

John, okay, I tried that, it didn't work either. I thought after I installed the update it would fix it... it didn't!

Hi Jay-

We're reproducing this with that file, and looking into the cause. At first glance, it looks like some of the metadata might be corrupt. The file opens OK in Sound Forge, but not ACID.

Thanks,
Joel

Just to be sure: this is ACID Pro 5.0 you're using? I'm having no problems with Music Studio 5.0 or ACID 4 or Sound Forge.

Thanks,

Suzan

Suzan, yes, it's ACID Pro 5 that I'm using. Did you read Joel's post above?
