Subject:Applying same regions to mult. files

I have six .WAV files, each having the same length.
I would like to create the same regions in all of the files.
Is there any way to automate this process once I have created the regions in one of the files? Can the regions list be exported somehow and then applied to another file? Thanks!

In Sound Forge 8, that answer will be yes - via scripting.

Great! Thanks for the info. Now to firm up my script-writing abilities. Any suggestions on primers or "getting started" guides?

Scripting might make this slicker for multiple files, but in the meantime, yes, the regions list can be exported from one file and imported to another via:

Special->Regions List->Save As...
Special->Regions List->Open.

"Any suggestions on primers or "getting started" guides?"

Look for it in the help and sample scripts with 8.0. I've always have had a hard time understanding the script function in Vegas or even having an inkcling of how to write one. After I read, the overview of the feature and looked at some of the sample scripts in SF8.0, which have comment lines inbetween the code describing how to alter the script, I'm finally getting my head around it and am excited to start trying to write my own or at least edit one to make it do what I want.

I'm hoping Sony can take this one step further and make a page on their website dedicated for users to share scripts with each other, like Acid Planet. For scripting we could have a Scripting Planet. For Vegas, I find myself reading the Scripting Forum and Vegas forums, for users who share scripts hoping to find something I will find useful. It sure would be nice to have an official Sony page, where users could go there, upload a script along with a brief description of what it does. I find I learn programming code easier once I see how someone else does it and use that as a foundation.
