This morning we launched a new My Account section on the Sony Media Software website. This new area will allow you to view past orders, keep track of serial numbers, see upgrades that you qualify for, and more. In order to post to these forums, you will need to register for the My Account area. Please note that even users with an existing forum account will need to go through My Account registration. Register For My Account Access Here After entering your email address, you'll receive an email from our website with a link to complete your registration. Enter a new password, answer two questions in case you forget your password, review your personal information, and then review and select your forum settings. In the forum settings, you'll see some new options. You can now choose to display your real name and system information on your profile page, and allow other users to email you. We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope that you find the new features worth the additional effort. |

> now all we need is ubb code support and we're set. :) UBB codes are just HTML codes with [] instead of <> and these forums already support HTML: <b>Bold</b> <i>Italic</i> <u>Underline</u> <pre>Preformatted</pre> < a href=http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/>Link to Sony Media Pictures</a> There are more... So you can use HTML just as easily as UBB codes. ~jr Message last edited on3/2/2005 5:15:57 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

i know, but UBB is more commonly used in forums and message boards. also, things like the [img] or [url] tag are more practical than < a href ... etc>. and UBB offers less chance of malicious HTML code being used for evil purposes. ;) ok, so much for that then. what about an option to automagically add a signature to your posts? :D Message last edited on3/2/2005 5:22:22 AM byATP. |

I dunno. Seems to me like signatures just take up screen space (and waste paper when printing) for no particularly good reason. I can always click on your name to find out your info if i want to. |

Does this mean the end of "I lost my serial number..." threads?? ;-) Nice job Sony! Mario |

At least we will still have the "How do you remove the vocal from a song" threads! |

Hello, This is a test reply, I really like how I can check all the software I've bought. I was surprised at how much I bought over the years. See ya, Rockitglider :) Message last edited on3/3/2005 4:56:01 PM byRockitglider. |

I just posted a message and it took me to the page of the first post/oldest in this forum instead of the last/latest page. |

Besides, not everyone puts personal info in there sigs. I don't. Mine is a personal statement. That being said, what I'd like to see is a way to quote a previous post one is replying to without having to do a copy and paste routine. Almost every other online forum allows one to quote a previous post by a one-button push. |

> what I'd like to see is a way to quote a previous post one is replying to without having to do a copy and paste routine. Almost every other online forum allows one to quote a previous post by a one-button push This is even more important in these Sony forums because of the threaded vs. non-threaded views. I always quote posts so people who use the non-threaded view (like myself) can figure out what post I’m responding to. It would be nice if the threaded view were a forum switch instead of a profile switch because the only time I need to use it is when someone doesn’t quote and I can’t figure out what post they are referring to. I hate having to change my profile for just one post and then change it back again. ~jr |

This might be too obscure to help, but let me know what you think. Click the words "Reply by:" in this post and it'll jump you up the page to the message I'm replying to. Doesn't work so great on short threads, but in the longer one's I thought it might help. |

Why is it I always check off the "Remember my username/password on this computer", but it doesn't? Also, the "You last visited..." is wrong on my PC. Mario |

PLEASE!!! Do NOT let the avatars and signs!! That is boring useless information on the screen and paper, i don't want to see stupid pictures and stupid word with every post!! That is strongly unneeded! |

Guys, I have to say, I think I liked the login procedure better the old way. Now I log in on one machine and it works great, now I go to my other machine and I can't post without creating a new profile!? wtf? |

spinweb, why can't you just log in with the same email address and password that you used on the first computer? I log in to this forum from 4 or 5 different computers throughout the week and use the same account on all of them. |

I had somehow gotten the username and pw to my other machine, which is located somewhere else, then for some reason it was wiped out. Why is this happening? And why can I not access my password without recreating one? I wind up in a loop of sending passwords between machines. Eric |

We now log on with our email address, not our username. Is it possible you are somehow browsing to an old login screen that asks for username? |
